Formative - Changing the Way Teachers Grade
Wednesday July 17, 2024 10:10am - 11:00am EDT
Formative is a digital program that decreases grading time while increasing student independence and problem-solving. Assignments can be uploaded to the platform in various forms and assigned to students. Put them on the platform once and then reuse year after year! Teachers can choose how feedback is provided to students (delayed, instant, or none) and view assignments in real-time. When instant feedback is chosen and a student gets a question wrong, then they can problem-solve to figure out what went wrong and correct the answer.

Free individual and paid school subscriptions are available. Depending on how you want to use the program, a free individual subscription may be all you need.

Wednesday July 17, 2024 12:10pm - 1:00pm EDT
Educators spend more and more time with learning data, monitoring progress, identifying gaps, and prioritizing learning next steps. Yet the most important work—connecting with students—remains. How do we shift the work we’ve done with learning data into student motivation? What are best practices for goal setting with students, and asking students to monitor their progress just like we do? This session will be product agnostic, yet our examples and stories will include Discovery Education products, specifically DreamBox Math, Discovery Experience, and DreamBox Reading Plus. Junior Achievement Is Your Solution Provider to SB35
Wednesday July 17, 2024 2:10pm - 3:00pm EDT
Senate Bill 35 (SB35) was passed last summer and requires all school corporations, charter schools, and state accredited nonpublic schools to provide a semester long personal financial responsibility course for high school students. This bill means that all students graduating in 2028 or later have taken this course prior to their graduation. These students begin their freshman year in 2024-2025 so schools are considering their options NOW on how to meet this new requirement.

Junior Achievement has been working with JA USA to develop a course that combines portions of the in-school Financial Literacy semester long course with JA Finance Park Advanced.

Junior Achievement Is Your Solution Provider to SB35
Thursday July 18, 2024 11:10am - 12:00pm EDT
Senate Bill 35 (SB35) was passed last summer and requires all school corporations, charter schools, and state accredited nonpublic schools to provide a semester long personal financial responsibility course for high school students. This bill means that all students graduating in 2028 or later have taken this course prior to their graduation. These students begin their freshman year in 2024-2025 so schools are considering their options NOW on how to meet this new requirement.

Junior Achievement has been working with JA USA to develop a course that combines portions of the in-school Financial Literacy semester long course with JA Finance Park Advanced.
