Math: From Progress Monitoring to Motivation—How Might Students Lead?

Educators spend more and more time with learning data, monitoring progress, identifying gaps, and prioritizing learning next steps. Yet the most important work—connecting with students—remains. How do we shift the work we’ve done with learning data into student motivation? What are best practices for goal setting with students, and asking students to monitor their progress just like we do? This session will be product agnostic, yet our examples and stories will include Discovery Education products, specifically DreamBox Math, Discovery Experience, and DreamBox Reading Plus. Target audience: 3rd-8th grade teachers.
