Getting a student to be able to read fluently with a strong understanding of the text and strength gained from new knowledge is the goal, and yet at grade level after grade level we put passages down in front of students to read for a minute to measure their fluency progress. The disconnect here is huge and the latest Science of Reading research helps us learn how to eliminate that disconnect and teach fluency! Join us in this session to take a fluency journey from foundational skills in K-2, all the way through supporting our students in the upper grades. You’ll leave with adjustments you can make in your classroom when returning to school.
