This interactive workshop will guide participants through an activity that will help to understand Human-Centered Design and how this method is an essential part of the EPICS design cycle and is an important element of Engineering. The workshop will move rapidly into the design process by utilizing a scenario from one of the many EPICS projects that have been successfully delivered within the community. The teachers will use this created prototype as a discussion tool to further gather information that would guide the engineering design process. The workshop will use reflection as a vital activity and demonstrate its power in STEM related service-learning.
